A Day in Baltimore with Meaghan & Mike

Yesterday I had my first ever blogger meetup with Meaghan of Left Hand Endeavor! Along for the ride was Meaghans boyfriend Mike and my hubby Jonny, and what a wonderful ride it was! First we went to see Edger Allan Poe's grave, which happened to be right in the middle of the city. The cemetery was lots of fun to see with it's VERY old graves.

Later we walked around a very pretty part of Baltimore called Fells Point. We went on a search for a vintage shop and found a super fun place called Killer Trash. Meaghan and I both found some great things! I had so much fun just wandering around the city getting to know each other! We also had a delicious dinner in a boat shaped restaurant. Meaghan is just as sweet as can be and even cuter in person! Oh, and that plaid dress! This morning I've been all over Ebay and Etsy searching for one just like it.

Jonny and I both really had such a wonderful time! The ride home we talked about how much we wish we could get together with Meaghan and Mike all the time. It's so great how us blogger girls and our blogger boys can get together and feel like we've know each other for a long time! I know Meaghan and I will stay in touch, even out of the blogosphere. Thanks again Meaghan and Mike for such a wonderful afternoon! Oh, and Mike, Jonny misses you already ;o)

In the Cornfield...

I finally have the pictures of my new 40s dress! Sorry it took so long! I had such a busy week thrifting and working. Isn't the corn in these pictures awesome!? Everywhere you drive around here there's fields and fields of corn, it's so neat. I didn't realize how tall it all was until I saw these pictures! Anyway, I absolutely adore this dress! I'm thinking of selling though because I have nowhere fabulous to wear it. It deserves to go to a ball or something! If I do decide to sell it you'll be the first to know.

I have a very exciting day tomorrow! I'm having my first ever blogger meetup. Can you guess who I'm going to meet!? Pictures of that in the next day or two. :o)

My Weekend in Pictures

This past weekend I was a very busy and happy girl! Early Saturday morning my Mom and I went to a flea market a few towns away. There I found the most amazing 30s style sunglasses for just 10 cents! I also found the sweetest picnic basket from the 50s for only a dollar. Right across the street from the flea market was the biggest anique mall. There we found the most fabulous selection of vintage hats and the prettiest dresses. I found two 40s dresses for my Etsy shop! I loved that boater hat from the 30s too. I'm going to have to make that place a regular stop. After all that exploring we went to a little diner where I sat right below a picture of my Elvis. I ate the yummiest burger and had one of my favorite desserts ever, a chocolate malt...yum! After we were nice and full we drove to a vintage shop the owners of the antique mall told us about. I was soooo excited once I got there I forgot to take any pictures. I found so many cute things for my shop I can't wait to share with you! I also found the most amazing 40s dress I think I've ever seen! It's such a beauty that I can't share it with you until I take pictures that do it justice.

That last picture of me in curlers was taken just moments ago! I'm curling my hair for the first time in years. I'm so happy I've decided to grown my hair out! If it looks half way decent in the morning I might have to set my hair every night.

Well, thats all for now. I think thats the most I've ever written on this blog...lol! I hope everyone has had a nice weekend too!

Seersucker Playsuits and Gingham Dresses

Hello lovelies! I'm sorry it's been so long since my last post! I had a nasty cold all week and didn't do much but watch old films. Yesterday was the first day I started feeling like myself again, so I went straight to work on my Etsy store. Though I have to admit doing that work is sometimes a lot of fun. As you can see I was outside by a beautiful lake enjoying the soft summer breeze. Along the way I met the sweetest dog named Mako. How could I not take pictures with him?! Thanks Mako! Both of these outfits above are going to be in my shop later today!

I hope everyone is having a fabulous week!

"Love is a Burning Thing"

Sunday was Jonny and my one year wedding anniversary! I can't believe our first year as a married couple went by so fast! We spent the morning at church with my family and the afternoon and evening together doing some of my favorite things. We went to see Johnny Depp in Public Enemies, which I highly recommend. Johnny Depp and the 1930's go very well together. Later we went to our favorite mexican restaurant and sat and enjoyed each other for a couple of hours. We continued celebrating yesterday by going to the beach and doing some boogie boarding, such fun! Next year, who knows, maybe Paris?! ;o)

You might have notice the Johnny Cash and June Carter theme to our pictures. Well, Walk the Line was the movie Jonny and I saw on our first date. Also, throughout our relationship Jonny and my nicknames have been Johnny and June. Thats why it was fun to take Johnny and June inspired pictures.

And...I have a new/old bathing suit I can't wait to share with you!
